ALEXANDER RECEIVED A HEART!❤!
5/19/2020
As we patiently wait for Alexander to get a new heart, medical bills are starting to come in. He is unable to come home and must remain in the hospital for treatment until there is a heart for him. We ask if you can donate to help with his expenses. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
Here's Alexanders story...
Meet Alexander Arocho. Born on July 29th,2019 at Winnie Palmer for Women and Babies in Orlando, FL. Shortly after his arrival he was placed in the NICU in preparation to be transferred to Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital PICU because he was born with a heart condition called Double Outlet Right Ventricle Transposition of the Great Arteries Ventricular Septal Defect (DORV). DORV is a rare congenital heart defect, where the aorta connects to the heart in the wrong place. At just 10 days old he underwent his 1st heart surgery. It would be the 1st of multiple surgeries he would need to keep him alive.
Alexanders journey of life has been a road that is unimaginable. Along with his heart surgeries, he has endured having breathing tubes, feeding tubes, drainage tubes and being pricked and poked regularly along with his regular IV and catheter. Many days he wasn't/hasn't been able to be held by his loved ones because he was attached to so many machines. It has been heart breaking to see him unconscious and being kept alive by a machine pumping his heart.
He has been determined and has continued to push through, proving the Dr.s wrong. As Alexander seemed to be making progress the Dr.s thought he was well enough to discharge and send home. So in preparation the Dr.s began, what we thought, would be there final testing before he was sent home. With excitement from the thoughts of him coming home we were met with horrifying news. The left side of Alexanders heart is failing fast and he would NOT be able to come home. A few weeks later they would inform us that they have exhausted all of their medical options and there was nothing more that could be done for him at Arnold Palmer and to anticipate him needing a heart transplant. This was the worst news we could have possibly imagined.
Alexander has been transferred to Shands Hospital in Gainsville where they have been treating him. He is currently on the donor list for a heart and we hope and pray that he receives one before his heart fails. He continues his fight and we will not give up on him.
Please keep my nephew, Alexander in your prayers! Again if you can generously donate to Alexanders expenses, it would be an absolute blessing. No amount is too small.
