A Healthy Heart and Smile for Susan
Donation protected
My mom, Susan Wolfe, urgently needs to have her teeth pulled and get dentures made. Periodontal disease, which has caused her blindingly painful infections that prevent her from eating, is now threatening the health of her heart.
Over the years I have watched my mom struggle with her teeth. I have watched some of her teeth fall out, I've witnessed her endless pain, and I've watched her waste away before my eyes because her mouth hurt too much to eat. It has been so hard to see, but I never knew until recently how dangerous periodontal disease is as it relates to heart disease.
My mom is nearly the only family I have in my life. She is Emily's #1 favorite person, and they share a connection that is beyond love. When she was 3 years old, Emily cut her hair short to be like Gummy (yes, related to her lack of teeth!) and she keeps it short to this day. My mom is so important to us and now she needs help.
She has seen several dentists and has gotten quotes on what she needs to do to keep healthy and live long to watch Emily grow up. She has made huge strides. #1- she QUIT SMOKING after almost 40 years! #2- she has started saving for this incredibly expensive endeavor. She has a plan to save $1000 over the next year, but it simply isn't enough. The procedures she needs will cost almost $4500, and she just doesn't have that long to wait before her health will decline to a point of no return. And there is just no other way to pay for this work, so we are turning to the kindness of people who may have a small bit of money to spare, so that she can get this absolutely necessary work done before it is too late.
Thank you so much for reading, for sharing this campaign, and for donating any amount to go toward this expense that might be the difference between my daughter having her Gummy with her at her graduation, or not.
