Don's Story
A healthy brain. People facing extreme life choices should have a right to try. It’s about individual rights and pushing research forward for all.
After a brutal diagnosis, Don has not only helped others but is seizing his future – with your help.
We are not asking for a handout, but a hand-up for everybody facing a traumatic brain illness. And Don Claus is willing to step forward.
About six years ago Don noticed it was taking twice the effort to complete tasks. By 2016, his employer, seeing the issue as well wound up asking Don to resign from a successful 20-year career.
The Diagnosis
Don, was lost and ashamed. At that time, we didn’t know that his challenges were linked to very real and demoralizing disease.
Northwestern University LEAD observational program at the Mesulam Center for Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease saw Don as a perfect patient. Going through extensive testing, Don learned he suffered from early-onset Alzheimer’s.
The diagnosis was crushing. Instead of wallowing in the diagnosis Don joined with his partner, and family and raised $10,000 for others at the Chicago Alzheimer's Foundation.
That's Young
At 58, Don is still young by today's standards. When you meet him, you will not notice the cracks immediately. But those moments are there, real and although addressed in the best ways possible, the dike is still cracking.
There is hope for everybody, not just Don.
That is why we have partnered with Stemaid in Mexico. Stemaid is a pioneer in Embryonic Stem Cell Production. They are the first company in the world to have produced embryonic stem cells for therapeutic use.

Don may have decades more life and contribution to society. Like Don with a vibrant life-spark, I imagine that many others fight to not have it dimmed by what seems like an extreme and early end.
In August of 2021, Don will start a five-week, six-days-a-week, five-hours-a-day intervention using cutting-edge stem cell therapy. This aggressive approach, if he qualifies, will be followed by ongoing stem cell therapy for two days a week over six additional months. While not a promise, the 6-month case study program is a strong possibility and then all additional medical expenses would be covered by Stemaid. We are moving forward with our fundraising effort as this is the expected outcome. Please join us in this intention.
With this aggressive therapy, Doctors have had encouraging results. They can slow/halt progress in 5-weeks and reverse the illness over 6-months.
Don is willing to be a study case for not just himself but for all those suffering from this demoralizing and debilitating illness.

Don and his partner, George, have pulled together much of their own money. They need an additional $50,000 more to participant in a 5-week intensive program and a 6-month case-study program. It is believed that the illness can be stalled with aggressive therapy over 5-weeks and maintained and even reversed over a longer engagement. We are dedicated to seeing this through over a 7-month period! Please join us in this exciting opportunity.
