A Healthier life for Paisley

This Beautiful little girl is my daughter Paisley, she is 8 years old. Here is a little back story on this sweet girl. Since the day she was born she has had a handful of health issues ranging from her kidneys, her stomach, and heart. Last year she was diagnosed with Scoliosis and Klippel Feil Syndrome (KFS). Her Orthopedic doctor prescribed her the Boston brace (shown in the picture) to try to stop the progression of her scoliosis and to avoid spinal surgery. She was ordered to wear it 24/7 other then the occasional break for showers and swimming. After much research we have found that she needs more then just the brace for the best chance at getting to be a normal kid as she continues to grow. Paisley has had 3 surgeries through the last 8 years and that puts her at a disadvantage of having no core muscles. She has to work twice as hard as a normal kid to gain those muscles back and have the support her spine will need over the next 5 years as she hits growth spurts. We found the best option for her through an amazing doctor and We will be traveling to Grand Blanc, MI to participate in a Scoliosis boot camp through ScoliSMART. We will be there for 5 days and while we are there they will do lots of physical therapy and create a routine specifically for her curve. They will also be testing to see if she is a candidate for a Scoliosis Activity Suit, which would help her tremendously.  After we return home she will be only bracing at night and will do her physical therapy during the day. That means she gets to be a normal kid while she is at school! The brace is so frustrating and has caused her self esteem to take a dive, especially at school where she feels different and cant do a lot of the things the other kids get to do. This would be a huge step for her! 

The reason I am creating this go fund me is because due to the treatment being out of state, her insurance will not be covering it. This is unfortunate, but this type of treatment isn't offered in Kansas. Any contribution made will go towards the following: The upfront cost of the treatment - $3000, any follow up treatment or additional costs, Gas for the 30 hour round trip plus driving while there, a Hotel room for 5 nights, and anything else she might need while we are there. 

I've gone back and forth on how to afford this treatment but I realize there are a lot of people that love her and want to help her have a healthy, happy life. And this was the best way to reach out to anyone that would like to help. If you can donate, every dollar counts.
