A Healing Journey From Thyroid Cancer

Donation protected
While I was in Mexico, I went for a therapeutic massage to help support my body while still navigating the sleepless nights of new motherhood. At the end of the massage she said, "I thought you had a tight muscle on the side of your neck but it's actually a lump. You should have that checked out." I received an ultrasound at a local hospital in Playa Del Carmen that week and based off of what they saw they wanted to do a biopsy. I figured it was simply a hormonal imbalance due to new motherhood and it would work itself out over time. I decided to watch it and see if it grew or changed over the coming months.

In mid-October I realized that the lump on my neck was getting bigger. I went in for another ultrasound here in Austin and before she even got to the biopsy she let me know she thought it was cancer. Of course the first thought is, "how is this possible?" My home is completely non-toxic, my diet all organic and made up of food from local farms, I practice yoga, mindfulness, and compassion daily. But sometimes we don't get an explanation in circumstances like this. The doctor sent the biopsy out for confirmation.

So, on November 12th I received the call that none of us ever want to receive, "you have cancer." She wanted me to go to surgery as soon as possible to remove the entire thyroid including a lateral neck dissection on my left side to remove any cancer that had spread there. After surgery I would be on hormones the rest of my life to replace the functionality of my missing thyroid. While I am not against surgery and am so very grateful for the presence of western medicine in circumstances like this, I also believe that cancer does not just pop out of nowhere. There are three main contributing factors in a cancer diagnosis: diet, lifestyle, and environmental. Understanding that it is most likely not diet and lifestyle, that leaves me with environmental. That can include environmental pollution, EMFs, viruses, bacteria, and infections.

I am on a fact finding research mission to heal my body and mind from the root so I can live an even more vibrant life from this place forward; for myself, my family, and of course, sweet 9-month old Cruz. I am reaching out for support. I will be heading to a healing clinic in Florida for the next 6 weeks. The expenses and investment is great and your donation will help support this journey as well as contribute to ongoing therapies once I am back in Austin.

My heart is full of gratitude for so, so many of you that have reached out with love, prayers, blessings, and loving thoughts. If a financial donation is possible for you right now, thank you! If not, your loving thoughts and prayers are just as helpful. Many thanks for your continued love and support on this journey.

With lots of love and blessings of healing to you as well,
Carly
