A Healing Journey For The Gentry's
Donation protected
Hello Gentry Community, My name is Kerry and I am starting this page on behalf of my friends and colleagues to help support The Gentry Family.
Jason Jr., also known as, "Chub" or "Lil Jason" was a ray of sunshine. If you had the pleasure of knowing him you would immediately recognize his big kind smile. We created this fundraiser to help fund a trip for Katie and Jason (If there are additional funds after a trip, they will be used at Katie and Jason's discretion for any needs they may have at this time). During times of great loss, the surrounding community often looks for ways to help. If you are looking for a way to share your love, grief, support, compassion, thoughts and prayers, please consider donating to this beautiful couple. We hope that together Katie and Jason can find some peace in a special place. Although just one small step on this healing journey, we wish to send them on this trip with all expenses paid.
There are many ways to share support and if a monetary donation does not resonate at this time, then please consider a kind word, a prayer, or refer to the official obituary that has some other ways to give in honor of Jason Jr.
In Love and Gratitude,
The Gentry Community
Below I have included part of the obituary for Jason Jr.
Jason Randall Gentry Jr., age 14, of Lansing, Michigan, was in the comfort of his home when he left this world to join his brother and sister in heaven on February 28, 2023, from an aggressive brain tumor. Jason, also known as “Chub” and “Lil Jason”, was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Katie and Jason Gentry, Sr. His family returned to the Lansing area where he attended Holt Public Schools where he was currently enrolled as a freshman. He was an energetic teen who loved soccer and LEGOS. As he advanced through junior high school and into high school, he became active in clubs and groups that allowed him to follow his passions including Sycamore Holt LEGO Robotics (assistant coach), Holt RoboRams and Holt Jr. Rams Soccer Teams in both outdoor and indoor soccer at Soccer Zone. Jason was brilliant and inquisitive. He earned membership in the National Junior Honor Society and the ACE (Architecture, Construction and Engineering) Mentor Program. In his free time, Jason loved nature and enjoyed bike riding, rollerblading, fishing, ice fishing, and caring for his aquarium. Jason will be remembered for his kindness, patience, and respectfulness. He was loving, passionate, religious, hilarious and the sweetest kid with a beautiful smile and big brown eyes. He looked out for everyone and will still do so from heaven and in our memories.
