David Beard, my fiancé, is a Desert Storm Veteran who has always gone out of his way to help anyone in need. He is currently on disability due to PTSD and other health-related conditions. In November 2025, our world changed when David was diagnosed with esophageal cancer, as well as cancer in the upper part of his stomach. Both areas are close together, making his treatment especially challenging. Since then, David has been undergoing chemotherapy to shrink the tumors enough for a major surgery that is expected in the next two months. The stress, the medications, and the constant medical appointments have taken a toll on him, both physically and emotionally.


Along with David’s cancer battle, his birthday is coming up on May 14, and I want nothing more than to give him the best, most stress-free getaway possible. He has always loved the coastal beaches, and we are currently looking at Myrtle Beach, but he has often dreamed of visiting Destin, Florida. This trip would give him a much-needed break from the daily challenges he faces and a chance to make special memories together.
