Help Us Give Sarah the Headstone She Deserves
Our family is asking for help with something deeply personal and long overdue: placing a memorial headstone for my sister, Sarah.
Sarah passed away from fentanyl poisoning. She was so much more than her death. She was a writer, an advocate, and a voice for people who were often unheard. She created the Facebook page The Bucking Jenny as a space for honesty, resistance, and truth, and she cared fiercely about the world around her.
After Sarah died, our family was overwhelmed with grief. We loved her deeply, and that loss broke us in ways we didn’t expect. My mom wanted to be the one to take care of her headstone—to choose it, to see it placed—but the weight of grief made it impossible for her to move forward. What felt like a simple step became emotionally unbearable, and time passed.
Now, years later, Sarah still has an unmarked grave.
Recently, our family has been hit with serious illness and overwhelming medical bills. My parents want to finally complete Sarah’s memorial, but financially, they no longer can. What should have been finished long ago is now out of reach without help.
This fundraiser is to cover the remaining costs of Sarah’s headstone and memorial placement—so she can be honored properly, and so our family can have a place to grieve, remember, and heal.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply hold Sarah in your thoughts, it means more than we can say. Thank you for helping us give her the dignity and remembrance she deserves.
