A Haunting Thriller - Ossuary

Donation protected
Ossuary (noun) - A container or room in which the bones of the dead are placed.

STORY
A young mother wrestles with reality as a gruesome crime unravels her family. ‘Ossuary’ – a gripping psychological thriller where buried sins resurface.

SYNOPSIS
In Ossuary, Abby’s life is overshadowed by the unsettling disappearance of a local child, an event that inflames her anxiety and strains the fragile balance she shares with her husband Henry. Bound by their devotion to each other and their young son, they navigate a home filled with unspoken tensions that threaten to spiral out of control. As pressure escalates, her once-stable home life crumbles under secretive tensions and a strange box that seems to hold the key to her deepest fears.

DIRECTORS STATEMENT
Abby embodies a mother's relentless commitment to her family's safety, willing to go to any lengths to keep them together. It's dark but it's necessary to see how a corrupted love can destroy the things held dear. My vision is to immerse viewers in Abby's fragmented reality, where the boundaries between sanity and madness melt. This is a story that combines the complex morality of Prisoners (2013) and the broken couple dynamics of Midsommar (2019).

LOOK
Visually, the film will possess a sickly, mostly softly lit aesthetic to mirror the internal decay of Abby and Henry, as well as the literal decomposing body hidden within the box. The colour palette will be dominated by muted greens, symbolising stagnation and rot. As the narrative progresses, splashes of red will intrude upon the greens, highlighting the violent reality of their actions.

YOUR SUPPORT
With your help, we can bring this haunting vision to life. Your contributions will go directly to covering production costs, including set design, equipment, and post-production. Every penny will help us create a film that is visually stunning, emotionally powerful, and grounded in the reality of its characters.

MEET THE TEAM
I am lucky enough to be surrounded by extremely talented people who have already put in so much effort into this project. The team is as laid out. The support and talent from them deserves to be recognised.

And the talents, from left to right are: Rosie Malone (Abby Carter), Bradley Chandler (Henry Carter) and Conor Pavitt (George Baker). I have had the pleasure of working with Rosie Malone on Object One and I am confident in her ability to carry the lead role for this project as well as the other incredibly talented actors are already putting in performances during the script read that is elevating the work.
