This is incredibly hard for us to ask, and if we had any other option, we wouldn’t be here.

Over the past few months, our family has faced a series of setbacks that compounded faster than we could recover from. In September, my husband unexpectedly lost his job. We truly believed we could regroup quickly, but the job market took longer than anticipated. He was finally able to secure new employment starting December 7th, and we are grateful to be back on stable footing moving forward.

During this same time, I made the decision to donate a kidney to help save someone else’s life. I do not regret this decision for a moment, but the recovery and temporary mobility limitations added unexpected strain to our household during an already fragile period. My surgery took place on December 17th, and while I am healing, it has limited what I’ve been physically able to do.

Because of these overlapping circumstances—job loss, delayed income, medical recovery—we have fallen behind on our rent and are now facing eviction. We fully take responsibility for where we are, and this is not something we ever imagined asking help for. We are not looking for a handout, but for a hand up during a moment we simply could not outrun.

Any funds raised will go directly toward catching up on our housing balance and keeping a roof over our heads while we stabilize. Moving right now would be extremely difficult due to my recovery, and maintaining our home would give us the chance to truly reset and move forward responsibly.
