Hello! We are five University of Tennessee, Knoxville students partnering with Hand UP for Women, a local nonprofit that helps women in our community break free from addiction, abuse, and poverty. We’re raising $1,000 to help pay off the newly purchased Miracle Ridge property to allow renovations to begin and create safe housing for women in need.

As young women, we feel deeply connected to this mission and grateful for the comfort of our own homes, and we invite you to help extend that same security and hope to women who need it most.

About Hand UP For Women

Since 2003, Hand UP for Women has helped women rebuild their lives through mentorship, life-management coaching, meal programs and career preparation. These programs create lasting change by instilling dignity, self-confidence, helping women break free from cycles of addiction, abuse, poverty, and despair.

Hand UP for Women strives to reach out with the love of Christ to women in the community who are ready to move from dependency to self-sufficiency. Participants attend a variety of classes in career building, financial literacy, computer skills and personal growth– each designed to help them rebuild their lives.

Since its founding, more than 200 women have participated in the program, with 85 graduates and 10 receiving short-term housing. Your support helps expand housing opportunities and gives more women the chance to find safety and stability.

Where Your Money is Going

In October 2023, Hand UP for Women received the Miracle Ridge property, which will become affordable housing once its remaining debt is paid. Every dollar donated through our GoFundMe campaign goes directly toward supporting women here in Knoxville.
