A great guy vs cancer

Steve Arseneau is a man that is loved by everyone he meets. He is a good friend, brother, father and husband. He works very hard to provide for his family but sometimes you need to ask for help, and for some that is a hard thing to do. That is why this GoFundMe has been set up, to help take away some of the worry of dealing with weekly doctor visits, time off work, and the additional emotional stress that having cancer brings.
Steve had his kidney removed March 2023 that had a large tumor. That October he had scans to see if the cancer had spread. They found that it went to the lymph nodes, and one in the lung. He was diagnosed as having Stage 4 clear cell renal cell metastatic carcinoma. Renal cell cancer is known to spread to the bones and the brain, so he had a pet scan and an MRI of his brain. These scans showed that he has 8 very small tumors in the brain but nothing in the bones. He had brain radiation followed by 12 weeks of immunotherapy. After recent scans to check on the progress there has been no change to the lymph nodes, which is good, but unfortunately the brain MRI showed 36 tiny new tumors. Steve completed 2 weeks of full brain radiation the end of February and started the next cycle of immunotherapy.
Most recent scans have shown there is a tumor on his thigh bone. It was treated with radiation in July. New tumors means medication isn’t working so he is has started a new treatment plan.

UPDATE: On August 17 Steve had another STEMI heart attack and was hospitalized for the days with 2 new stents. He is now home recovering and doing well. He has now decided to retire and concentrate on his strength and health. Please keep Steve and the Arseneau family in your prayers as they navigate the tough road of cancer. Every donation is deeply appreciated.

March 13, UPDATE: We are sad to announce that Steve has stopped his cancer treatment due to the severity in the spread of tumors in his brain. He was given only weeks-months to live and is on hospice at home. He has decided to throw anything he can at the cancer in hopes of a miracle. Alternative medicines and treatments are going to be pursued. Because these kinds of medicines are not covered by insurance the family will be paying out of pocket. Any monitory support for Steve and his family is deeply appreciated. Thanks to everyone who has helped the Arseneau’s during this difficult time.
