In August of 2024, our world was turned upside down when my dad was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of doctor’s appointments, tests, and an emotional rollercoaster as we fought to get him evaluated for a liver transplant. It wasn’t easy, but at the beginning of January, the Mayo Clinic finally agreed to evaluate him for the transplant list.
Then, something incredible happened. On January 30th, he was officially listed, and just five days later, we got the call—a liver was available. We couldn’t believe it. It was a moment of hope and gratitude, a chance at life that we had been praying for.
Early Tuesday morning, my dad went into surgery. We were filled with so many emotions—fear, relief, and overwhelming hope. But the journey was far from over. During the transplant, there were serious complications. He experienced hemorrhaging that required additional intervention, and just a couple days later needed to have a stint placed in his bile duct. It was terrifying to watch him go through this, but my dad is a fighter.
Now, he faces a long and difficult road to recovery. The battle didn’t end in the operating room—it’s just beginning. He has months of healing ahead, with countless follow-up visits, medications, and rehabilitation. We are doing everything we can to support him, but the financial burden is heavy.
We need help covering medical expenses, the cost of lodging while staying near the Mayo Clinic, and the lost wages that make an already stressful time even harder. My dad has always been the one to take care of everyone else, and now it’s our turn to take care of him.
If you can donate, any amount—big or small—will make a difference. If you can’t donate, sharing this with others means just as much. We are beyond grateful for the support, prayers, and love we’ve received so far. Thank you for helping us fight for my dad’s recovery.
