A Gift of Time for Kim's Family Adventures

Kim is one of the kindest souls you will ever meet. Her gentle nature just puts you at ease when you are around her. No matter what she is going through, she is always a rock and listening ear to others as if her challenges do not even exist. This wonderful woman is a wife to John and a dear mother to Kayleigh and Thomas. I get the pleasure of working with Kim. She is an occupational therapist and an AT specialist and is loved by her students and staff! She is so much to so many people, and this is why we are coming together to hopefully help Kim and her family during this time of need. Kim was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic anal squamous cell carcinoma that has settled in her liver, a cancer that is incurable. It was thought that her first round of treatments of chemo and radiation would rid her body of the disease. Well, stupid cancer had other plans and reared its ugly head again leaving her and her family full of unimaginable emotions and uncertainty. At this time, Kim is close to running out of paid sick leave. She often comes to work when she should be home resting following her brutal treatments. She was very hesitant to allow us to put this fundraiser together as it is just not her “style.” That’s who she is. She is a giver and never expects or asks for anything in return. While it is still classified as stage 4, there have been some glimmers of hope with recent doctor appointments! Keep the prayers coming! We know there is no crystal ball, and even though there is no cure, miracles happen daily. During this difficult time, we would love for her to be able to rest and recover when she needs to, and enjoy her family on her best days! As colleagues and friends of hers, we get to hear not only her fears but also her dreams of making precious memories with her family while she still has stretches of good days in between her treatments. She dreams of doing a special trip with each of her children to spend some quality time exploring places they have always dreamed of going to. Let's help her with this bucket list! Kim and her family enjoy traveling and performing arts. They are huge Broadway and musical fans and love spending time together watching the stage come alive. Any funds raised can be used to give Kim extra rest days when she is feeling ill, travel, medical expenses, or trips to see some musicals! We think it's our turn to give this gift to such a selfless and wonderful person. No one deserves it more than her.
