A Gift for Scarlet

Our dear sister and beautiful mother, Laura, gave birth to little Scarlet on the 8th October 2022 under a full moon. Scarlet decided to come a little earlier than planned... she was born 5 weeks before her due date. She was perfect but had to spend the first few weeks of her life in hospital as she had some respiratory issues and needed ventilation. Laura and Martin took her home to be introduced to her older siblings, Rex, Amy, Skye, Toby and Logan, on the 23rd October. She was enveloped into their bustling family, and everyone fell in love with her. She was an angel.

On the eve of advent, Laura had her final night with Scarlet. She nursed her, changed her nappy, and they fell asleep. But when Laura woke up the following morning, Scarlet did not. Devastatingly Scarlet had passed away in the night without any warning.

Scarlet was only 8 weeks old when she went back to the stars.

This tragedy and the pain and suffering it has caused is simply unbearable, and Laura, Martin and the children are heartbroken beyond words. We (her Sisters and Martin's family) are doing our best to support them in whichever way we can so they can come to terms with her passing and eventually move forward with their lives.

Laura has demonstrated bravery and courage beyond words. Besides her grief, her main concerns are staying strong and focused on maintaining the older children's well-being and seeing them through this difficult time.

We are opening this fundraiser to raise money for Scarlet's funeral- a cost that no parent would ever expect to have to account for. Laura and Martin have a low income and a large family, and Christmas approaching only adds to the financial strain they are under. We want to hold a beautiful ceremony to celebrate Scarlet's little life without financial restrictions. The family are planning to have a small natural burial on a beautiful farm near their home in North Devon. A tree will be planted over Scarlet's body as she returns to the earth.

Any money left over, we would like to put towards supporting Laura, Martin and the children through therapies and hopefully a little holiday when they are ready.

No one can ever take away our family's loss but your money will be used to honour her life and help the family to come to terms with what has happened. By giving your money, you are giving loving energy. Love can heal people's hearts.
