Hello Class of 1977 & Friends,
This is an urgent appeal to help our dear friend and classmate, Roslyn “Jamila” Harris. She currently lives in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands with her husband, Lennox, and their two dogs.
Jamila and her family have now lived through TWO terrifying, Category 5 hurricanes -- Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria in 12 days! Their yard was devastated, but thank God, their house remained intact and everyone is okay. They are making it day by day, but their most pressing need now is electricity.
We would like to help our dear classmate with her greatest need – a generator. The generator that we would like to purchase is a Generac propane generator from Home Depot which costs $3,047.00.
We would like to have it shipped by her birthday, Oct. 17 so that we can tell her that it’s on the way. A shipping company in Miami that can transport the generator to St. Thomas for approximately $153. Total needed - $3,200.
Please donate to help our dear Spelman sister survive this dire situation. This is a time to let our sisterly love really shine! If 32 of us donated $100 or if 64 of us donate $50, we can get it done.
