Hi! My name is Will Brownfield and I’m 17 years old (but only for a few more weeks) and I’m taking the final steps toward earning my Eagle Scout Award, the highest rank in Scouting.
For my Eagle Scout Service Project, I’ll be building a Gaga Ball Pit for The Winston School, a school that specializes in supporting students with learning differences. Gaga Ball is a fast-paced, inclusive, and wildly fun game (kind of like dodgeball’s cooler cousin that everyone can enjoy). And yes, the name makes it sound like Lady Gaga invented it. Sadly, she didn’t but I bet she would approve of the project.
Why this project? Well, The Winston School emphasizes community, inclusion, and physical activity, just like Scouts. A Gaga Pit gives students of all abilities a fun way to get moving, laugh, and build friendships. Plus, it’s way more fun than just sitting around at recess.
To make this project happen, I need to raise $2,500 to cover materials, construction, and other costs. I’ll be leading the planning, organizing, and building of the pit with the help of fellow Scouts and volunteers. But I need your help to turn this vision into a reality.
Whether you donate $5 or $25 every bit helps. Thank you so much for supporting my project and helping me reach this important milestone in Scouting—and in life!
Yours in Scouting,
Will Brownfield
