A.G.'s Safe Place Fund

This fund is for our dear Army sister and friend, A.G.

She left the military to begin a family with her Army husband, who ultimately became violent and increasingly abusive over the years. He controlled every aspect of her life once she became a mother, isolating her socially, emotionally and financially.

After contact with law enforcement agencies on more than one occasion with little positive change in her husband's violence, A.G. and her three young children fled to a shelter, where they have been since mid-February.

Upon her escape to the shelter, her husband changed the locks on their house, reported her debit and credit cards stolen, and withheld her children's social security cards from her to prevent her from obtaining services.

At first, his unit was supportive, but now they are doing next to nothing to ensure he provides for his family. A.G. and her little ones have nothing but a few articles of clothing and whatever they were able to carry before leaving for the shelter.

A.G. and her husband are stationed several states away from her family and friends. She has limited funds in savings from her modest monthly V.A. disability compensation payments, but it is not enough to start over.

Her other friends and I are hoping to raise enough funds to help her (at the very least) with her first month's rent and security deposit so she and the children will have a place to live, clothing, toys and essentials for the children, and enough money for a divorce attorney's retainer.

She has a tough journey ahead of her where she will need these things in addition to re-entering the workforce after a long hiatus as a stay-at-home mother. Help us help her begin a new chapter where she and the children are safe from domestic violence.

All donations sent to this GoFundMe campaign will go directly to A.G. and no one else.
