Help Fund my Education as a STEM Educator

Hello, my name is Jazmin Nazario and my career goal is to become a Mathematics teacher, specifically serving high need communities. I have graduated Fordham University's Undergrad as a Mathematics major and have now been accepted into their Master’s of Science in Teaching Program at Fordham's Graduate School of Education. I am looking to fund my tuition, since I wasn't able to get scholarships. I will officially begin this Fall!
Being from a socioeconomically disadvantaged population, I understand firsthand how important it is to receive a well-rounded education. My experiences growing up have made me determined to be a teacher that is committed to serving this demographic and giving back to communities, like my own. I have already gained some experience teaching and conducting research in programs that serve students who are socioeconomically disadvantaged or underrepresented.
As a college scholar, I worked for Fordham’s Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP), where I was given the opportunity to instruct some courses in the Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP). CSTEP and STEP prepare minority and disadvantaged students for careers they are typically underrepresented in. Not only was I an instructor for this program, but I prided myself upon being a role model. The classes I taught were filled with bright students of color, interested in pursuing STEM careers. I was ecstatic to be someone who could mentor and guide them through that process. My role as a Black and Hispanic woman studying mathematics meant so much to these students and I was committed in helping them gain essential resources to expand their knowledge, while also providing them advice to be successful in STEM.
In addition to teaching at Fordham, I also work at Red Hook Initiative (RHI), a local non-profit serving Red Hook Housing residents. At RHI, I get to know, tutor and instruct students of the community from ages 10-18. RHI also services economically disadvantaged students and giving back to them is important to me. Tutoring and teaching allows me to not only be a role model for young adults, but also provide services and resources to students to help them attain better grades and higher education.
It would mean the world to me to be able to receive assistance in financing my journey to becoming a teacher. There is a high need of Black educators, especially those in STEM and I am determined to fulfill my goal of challenging the stigma. Any support is welcome. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and hope you are inspired to donate!
I also have Cash App ($JazminNazario), Venmo (@Jaz-Naz) and PayPal (PayPal.me/JazNaz), if that is more accessible!
