A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gym

Hi, my name is Gretchen. On Sunday, February 26 at around 7pm, my brother in-law, Q (Eriq) was on his way to the gym. If you know him, you know how much he loves his gym. Crossing the street with the pedestrian light, he was struck by a truck and was dragged 20-25 yards before the guy stopped. The guy just did not see him. Everyone stayed at the scene until the ambulance and my brother were called.

Q was sent to Queens hospital. And on Thursday he had a four hour surgery that lasted for 11 hours! He had 6 broken ribs, a punctured liver and a bruised lung. He also had severe road rash from being dragged 60-75 feet!

He’s been in and out of the ICU. The docs say he’ll be in recovery for at least a month.

Q loves the gym. He’s a body builder who planned to compete this year. His home is the theater where he sings, acts, and dances. He also works backstage.

He loves Disney!
