A Fundraiser for Uncle Ralph's Medical Recovery

I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to share the story of my Uncle Ralph Esquivel, a man known for his resilience and kind spirit, who is currently in the fight of his life. Just recently, a sudden medical emergency turned our world upside down when an ulcer in Ralph's body burst, leading to severe internal bleeding. It was a day like any other until it wasn't. Ralph noticed bleeding after he went to the bathroom, and his partner insisted he go to the hospital. Luckily, she did that because after arriving, Ralph collapsed, had a seizure, and suffered a cardiac arrest. Thanks to being at the hospital at that critical moment, the medical team sprang into action, performing life-saving CPR and managing to bring him back from the brink after several minutes of being unresponsive.

Since Sunday evening, Uncle Ralph has shown us what true strength is. Placed on life support, he began to show small promising signs of recovery by Tuesday, responding to questions with slight nods, a small gesture that meant the world to us. The medical team has since reduced his medications and removed the life support, yet he remains under care to ensure his comfort during this fragile time. Although he's made progress, the road ahead is steep and uncertain. We're still awaiting to understand the full extent of the damage and what it means for his recovery.

Unfortunately, the financial strain of Uncle Ralph's medical care is profound. After days in the ICU and an expected extended hospital stay for ongoing tests and evaluations, the mounting medical bills are beyond what Ralph and his partner can manage on their own.
