A Fundraiser for My Mother's Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
I'm organizing a fundraiser for my mother, Barbara Brown, who has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer that has spread to her liver.
My mother, Barbara Brown, is an incredible woman known for her unwavering support and compassion for others. She's always gone out of her way to lend a helping hand, whether it's assisting neighbors, volunteering for those in need, or simply being a listening ear for anyone facing hardships. Her selflessness and support have touched countless lives.
Now, hopefully we can round the troops and help support her during this challenging time. The costs associated with fighting cancer can be overwhelming, and while we're unsure of the prognosis, the possibility of it being terminal weighs heavily on us.
There are many potential expenses associated with her cancer treatment, - there may be a possibility of her receiving treatment in Alberta, away from BC, which may incur additional costs. I want to ensure her utmost comfort, even if it means acquiring medical essentials like a hospital bed and other necessary equipment.
My dad and two sisters intend to take a leave of absence from work to be with her during this difficult time, which will entail additional costs. Currently, I have taken a leave of absence from school, resulting in the loss of my funding through the school. I've flown out to BC and have postponed finding work because I want to support my mom.
We are currently navigating the situation the best we can. It's a difficult time, and we're immensely grateful for your love, support, and prayers. Donations can be made through gofundme or e-transferred to [email redacted]
Please note: I understand that this news is very difficult and will likely come as a shock to those who know my mom. I ask people not to reach out to my mom about questions about her diagnosis or treatment at this time, as she and our family are trying to not overwhelm ourselves the best we can. You are welcome to share messages of support here: although my mom may not be able to respond to each one. Your care, support and love is deeply appreciated.
