A FUNDRAISER FOR KAIA
0% complete
$1,881 raised of $1K
23 donations
As many of you know, we were shut down abruptly and without cause, warning or respite by NY State on July 19th at 530pm. The outpouring of support and in particular the emails to our local district representatives from our State Senator, Assemblyman and Councilman have been overwhelming and because of YOU, our dear UES neighborhood family, your voices were heard we are OPEN!
On Wednesday August 1st at 6pm, Kaia will host a Rebirth Fundraiser. Usually our fundraisers are for a personally chosen charity each year, but this coming Wednesday, we would be so grateful if you can join us for our most important fundraiser yet, our survival.
Being closed for a week had a tremendous impact on Kaia and my staff and our ability to stay in this space, and in this neighborhood. Every act of support is crucial to our success. We want to be here for a long time to come, and also continue our current legal efforts to fight and take our case all the way to Albany. I want to help other small businesses just like ours and change the culture of an ill equipped department with no oversight, no communication structure, no hierarchy or compass in place to keep small business in New York City alive and thriving.
We will have unlimited food and drinks and lots of great auction items, including a trip to my beloved South Africa.
If you are unable to make it, we have set up a Gofundme Campain to #KeepKaiaHome. We need you now, more than ever! We will be forever grateful!
Much Love
Suzaan, Billy, Thabiso, Emily, Deji, Lara, Genemy and Juan.
