Help Fritz Beat FIP and Stay Healthy

Hello,

Our names are Britt and Evan Sabo and we live in Baltimore with our three cats Fritz, Fraidy, and Sophie.

Meet Fritz! He's 3.5 years old and very sweet and goofy!

Last month (12/13/25) Britt and I had to take Fritz to the emergency vet because his skin was noticeably jaundiced. He'd also lost weight and was becoming sluggish.

After a few hours (and blood panels) the vet finally diagnosed him with FIP (a coronavirus infection in cats) after an initial cancer scare. We spent the rest of the weekend unsure whether or not Fritz would survive until a pharmacy that carried the FIP med opened on Monday, but he was strong and held on for us.

We were able to get the first round of medicine for him the following Monday and he responded well to it right away. Within the first 10 hours of him receiving that first dose he started sitting up again and became more alert. We've been closely monitoring him over the last couple weeks and each day he keeps getting stronger, more alert, and more active. It truly saved him.

Fritz after a few days on his FIP med. He's finally back to tripping us again!

While we thankfully had enough on hand to pay for the initial screening and the first round of treatment, the full course of treatment for him will be lengthy and costly between the cost of the medicine ($160+ per bottle, with 2-3 bottles needed per month) and recurring biweekly checkup visits with our primary vet to run followup bloodwork ($250+ per visit) over the course of the next 3 months.

Without receiving the full 3 month course of treatment, the FIP infection will resume and Fritz will die.

We're not ready to let go of him so soon. He's only 3.5 and we know he's got many years of roasting beside the radiator and slurping up chicken slurry ahead of him still!

We've tallied the full cost of his treatment to $3,500.00 (rounding up a bit to account for the fact that the dosage of medicine he'll need will increase as he begins gaining weight back). If we wind up raising more than our total goal, anything extra raised will be set aside to help cover future bloodwork and exams for Fritz to monitor him after he's recovered.

Anything you could give would help us out greatly, and we'd deeply appreciate it if you could also boost this fundraiser online. We're so lucky and thankful we didn't have to say goodbye to Fritz before the holidays, but we need help providing this care for him. Thank you for your time and help, and have a wonderful new year.

From Fritz, and all of us who love him, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
