A friend just diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.

Hi, my name is Bob. I'm fundraising to help a friend and colleague just diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. It all started with pain in his leg. The doctors told him it was his sciatic nerve and never confirmed the diagnosis with any type of x-ray or scan. The pain continued to get worse until one day it was unbearable. The cancerous tumor in his leg had exploded and required immediate surgery. The surgery went well and he's progressing with physical therapy. The cancer however is in other parts of his body and he will begin treatment once released from rehab. I'm asking for your help because this is a man who would give you the shirt off his back but lacks the financial resources needed to meet living and unforeseen (and likely very costly) medical expenses. I was at the hospital this week and the physical therapist suggested a transport wheelchair (less weight than a regular wheelchair and easier for his family to get in and out of a vehicle). Cost is only about $100, but he cannot afford it and insurance will not pay for it because he's currently using a walker. His diagnosis is terminal, but I want to do what I can to assist him in having the best quality of life regardless of how long that might be. No one should have to choose whether to pay rent or obtain necessary medical care. Any help is truly appreciated.
