My name is Jacob, and I’m reaching out for support as I work to overcome homelessness and start a new chapter in my life. Earlier this year, I lost my job after my car broke down, which set off a chain of events that made it impossible to keep up with rent. I tried to make things work by taking in a roommate, but that only led to more challenges—unpaid bills, constant arguments, and eventually, eviction. Since then, I’ve been staying with my cousin, but I don’t know how long I’ll be able to stay or how I can repay their kindness. I’ve been relying on public transportation for the past four months, doing my best to get by and stay hopeful.


My goal is to travel to North Dakota, where my friend Rooni has offered me a place to stay and a chance to rebuild. Rooni and I met through VRChat, a virtual reality social platform, and over the past few months, we’ve built a strong connection. She cares deeply about my well-being and wants to help me get back on my feet. I’m truly grateful for her support and friendship, and I’m excited for the opportunity to start fresh in a place where I feel cared for and understood.


The funds I raise will go toward travel expenses to North Dakota, transportation once I arrive, and paying off debts that have built up during this difficult time. I also want to show my gratitude to my cousin for their help by contributing to food and bills while I’m here. Once I’m settled, I plan to find a job, help Rooni with expenses, and eventually continue my education in music.
