This picture you see before you (left) is of a girl who just lost her mother (right).  Just over a month ago, my niece Rimona lost her mother, Rachel, tragically-succumbing to the evils of depression.  She watched her mother suffer for many years and now finds herself at a loss trying to cope with an ill mother, moving all the time, blending families and adjusting to new surroundings constantly.   

But there is hope for my sweet niece, the daughter of my precious sister.  Rimona has the opportunity to join a group of other young adults her age for a gap year in Israel where she will have a chance to learn, grow, find clarity, make a plan!  Aardvark is a program in Israel where she will gain the structure she needs to excel in her life,  college classes with credits she will have the ability to transfer over to a college of her choice when she returns, social interaction with peers her age, internships and volunteer work, a stable and secure place to live and consistent meals.  

The funds needed for this program will go toward program tuition for 8 months in Israel which includes room and board, college credit classes, field trips and some food just to name a few things.  She will also need airfare to Israel, appropriate health insurance coverage for overseas, a long list of supplies including bedding, clothing items, toiletries, etc plus pocket money for incidentals and other day to day living expenses aside from what the program might include .

This is an opportunity that could prove crucial to the healing and hope for a young girl whose life was just swept up from under her leaving her high and dry with no stability.  An opportunity her mother could have only dreamed of for her daughter.
