A Fresh Start for My Family ☀️

As a single mom of three, I’ve learned to appreciate the opportunities that come along to create something better for my children. Right now, I have a beautiful opportunity to move into a new home and give my three children a fresh start while staying local and close to the people and support systems we know and love.

I’m keeping the exact location private for our family’s privacy, but this opportunity means so much to us.

I’ve also reached out to the Salvation Army, General Assistance, Tedford Housing, and other local organizations to explore assistance with the upfront security deposit and moving costs. Unfortunately, I haven’t met the eligibility criteria for deposit assistance through the resources I’ve contacted. I’m continuing to do everything I can on my own, but I could use a little help bridging the gap.

I’m asking for help because I want to get ahead before I fall behind—to give my children a home where we can settle in, breathe a little easier, and begin building more stability together.

Our Goal: $2,800

My goal is to raise $2,800 in community support, alongside the $500 I’m contributing from my own savings. Together, that will give us $3,300 to put toward making this move possible and getting our family settled.

Here’s what the funds will help cover:

$1,610 — Security deposit and move-in costs

Priced through Amazon, including shipping. This covers a twin bed frame and mattress, fresh bedding for all three kiddos, child-safety supplies such as outlet covers and cabinet locks, and replacement kitchen appliances recommended by our exterminator, including an air fryer, microwave, toaster, and ice maker.

$63 — Storage unit

A 5×5 unit at Extra Space Storage for sentimental belongings, including taxes, fees, and the lock.

$663.82 — Current CMP balance

Closing out our existing electricity balance, since utilities are included in the new home.

Remaining funds ($75–$175, depending on the amount raised): To help cover GoFundMe processing fees, any unexpected moving expenses, and extra necessities for the kids as we settle into our new home.

I know everyone has their own challenges, so I don’t take asking for help lightly. I’m contributing my own savings, arranging affordable moving transportation, and reaching out to every resource I can to make this opportunity work for my family.
