A Fresh Start for Didi, Jasmine & Their Pets After the Flood

On July 5th, my family’s world was turned upside down during the devastating Texas floods. My 9-year-old daughter Jasmine, our beloved pets (2 dogs, 2 ferrets, and a leopard gecko), and I lost our RV, which was our permanent home, as floodwaters swept through our campsite.

Since then, we’ve been moving from place to place, trying to find somewhere safe to stay. Thankfully, we’ve found an apartment, but we need help securing it and beginning the long process of rebuilding our lives. Everything we owned was lost in the flood — furniture, clothing, household items, and supplies for our pets.

Heartbreakingly, our family also suffered unimaginable personal loss. My 8-year-old cousin passed away in the flood, another family member is in the ICU, and my eldest daughter’s boyfriend tragically lost his life that same day.
