Hi everyone, my name is Henry, and I'm the owner of HM Home Improvement, a small local business here in Rhode Island.

Recently, I went to a gentleman's home to give him an estimate for a full house cleanout. I went there expecting to look at a job, give him a price, and go about my day. But after meeting him and hearing his story, I knew I couldn't treat this like a normal job.

When I arrived, David Girasole welcomed me into his home and immediately apologized for the mess. As he walked me through the different rooms, showing me what he needed removed, I could hear his voice begin to shake and his eyes fill with tears.

I asked if everything was okay, and he began to tell me about his wife, the love of his life, who tragically passed away by suicide.

He explained that before losing her, they had a beautiful life together. They took pride in their home, kept everything clean, and enjoyed their life together. But after losing her, everything changed.

The grief took an enormous toll on him. Keeping up with the house became overwhelming, and over time, the belongings and clutter accumulated. Many of the things around him are reminders of the life he once shared with his wife.

As he told me his story, he broke down. I could see just how much he was hurting.

He's still doing what he can to get by, picking up painting work whenever it's available. But what he really wants now is to start a new chapter, a clean slate.

His dream is simple. He wants to clear out the house, sell it, and move into a small apartment with his beloved parrot. Somewhere peaceful, manageable, and free from the overwhelming reminders of everything he's been through.

He had previously received a quote of over $5,000 to clean out his home.

After hearing his story, I made the decision that my company and I would take care of the cleanout completely free of charge.

But I want to do more than that.

I'm asking our Rhode Island community to come together and help David get the fresh start he deserves.

Every dollar raised will go toward helping him transition into his next chapter, including moving expenses, housing costs, and hopefully a few months of rent so he can have some breathing room while getting back on his feet.

My team and I are donating our labor, and we're reaching out to local volunteers and businesses to help with transportation, disposal, and the cleanout.

This isn't about fixing everything he's been through. Nothing can replace the person he lost.

But maybe, together, we can take some of the weight off his shoulders and remind him that there are still people out there who care.

If you're able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean so much. And if you can't donate, sharing this fundraiser would help tremendously.

Thank you for taking the time to read his story and for helping us give someone in our community a fresh start.
