Hi Friends,
I’m reaching out today because someone very dear to me needs help, and time is short.
My partner Loni and her daughter need to move out of their apartment by the end of this month, and the financial strain of everything happening in their lives right now has made navigating this transition incredibly difficult.
Over the past year, Loni has been going through a painful divorce while also recovering from a traumatic brain injury that has significantly affected her memory, balance, and stamina. She also lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which makes healing and day-to-day life more complex.
Despite all of this, she keeps pushing forward — attending therapy, managing medical care, searching for stable work, and doing everything she can to create a secure future for her daughter.
There is also an urgent medical timeline. Loni has two medically necessary procedures scheduled that she is working hard to complete before her current insurance coverage ends in June. Managing treatment while trying to secure stable housing and reliable transportation has become overwhelming.
Their van — their only reliable transportation — now needs major repair or replacement, making it difficult for Loni to safely get to medical appointments and job opportunities.
At the same time, the rent on their current apartment has become financially unsustainable, which means they must find and secure new housing quickly.
Her daughter is bright, creative, and thriving in school, and protecting that stability during this difficult time is incredibly important.
Through everything she’s facing, Loni is also working toward independence. She has been steadily building a gluten-free baking business, something she hopes will grow into a sustainable source of income as she rebuilds after this difficult year.
Right now, though, they simply need a bridge — support to help them stabilize while Loni completes her medical treatment and secures steady income.
The funds raised here will help cover:
• Past-due and upcoming rent
• Moving expenses to secure affordable housing
• Electricity and essential utilities
• Repairing or replacing their van
• Medical costs, therapies, and recovery support
• Basic necessities during this transition
Loni would never be the person to ask for help like this herself. That’s why I’m asking on her behalf.
If you are able to contribute, any amount truly helps.
And if donating isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser with your community can make an enormous difference.
Thank you for helping a strong and loving mother and her daughter find stability during a very difficult moment.
With deep gratitude,
Bonji
