A former Parachute Regiment and Northern Ireland Veteran
Donation protected
Hi there everyone,
This is an urgent appeal for assistance for a former Parachute Regiment and Northern Ireland Veteran who has tragically been diagnosed with Bone Marrow cancer. For some months he's been receiving NHS treatment as an inpatient at The Royal Marsden hospital, including Chemotherapy to fight the disease but since treatment began he's also been diagnosed with Leukemia. To now maximise his chances of survival battling 2 types of cancer he can receive a more effective type of Chemotherapy, unfortunately however he has to self-fund this part of the treatment because it's not available on the NHS.
His very elderly mother frequently endures a 2 hour each way trip on various modes of public transport to visit her son as a taxi is so costly. His devoted wife doesn't drive but still visits each day, again mostly by public transport for the same reason and having lost the main breadwinner income she's doing all she can to keep a roof over their heads and support her husband but the strain and worry is tremendous.
In light of the above, any donations, even if only a small amount, to help towards these unforeseen and ongoing expenses for the family would help lessen the burden and be so gratefully received.
With sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks in advance may we also please ask that this request for help be shared with the Veterans community and any other interested parties.
