For those of you who don't already know, Mark Gaul was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) just a couple of weeks ago. AML is a devastating diagnosis, as it is a very aggressive type of cancer. Thankfully, Mark tolerated his induction chemotherapy well (the first step), and is currently recovering at Kettering Medical Center. His next step will be transferring his care to The James, at OSU.
Mark is only 62 years old. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Sharon. They have two adult sons (Josh and Travis), and seven grandchildren. Mark is a recently retired Captain from the Washington Township Fire Department, after serving us for 38 years. He also recently had to stop working as a career Tool and die maker, due to his health.
There are so many hurdles that Mark still has to face in the very near future. There are also so many unplanned expenses that Mark and Sharon already have, and many more that will quickly pile up. In addition to a mounting list of medical expenses, Sharon and their family are rushing to move from their farm in Gratis to a more manageable home closer to local family.
Mark is no longer able to work, and Sharon has not been able to work for many years due to her own health.
Any urgent financial help for this family would ease their worries, and we know their worries are great enough already. If you cannot help financially, please pray for his health, strength, and peace.
Mark is an amazing man. He is the rock of his family. He is needed. He is loved.
