On Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2:16 am, my parents, Delia and Carlos Mata, received a phone call that no parent ever wants to get. My parents were informed that my brother, Carlos Mata Jr., was in a horrific traffic crash in Hammond, Indiana, and was pronounced deceased at the scene of this crash.

The death of my brother has left a major void in my family. Carlos always had a smile on his face and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His absence will be felt by all the countless lives he touched.

The unexpected tragic death of Carlos Jr. has left my family with unexpected funeral and burial expenses. Let’s all come together and find it in our hearts to give Carlos Jr. the proper funeral that he deserves.
