On September 14th, 2025, our beloved mother, Diane, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 69. Her death came just a few short months after we lost her firstborn son, our brother John, to cancer in May 2025. This has been a devastating period for our family, and now we are humbly reaching out for support to fulfill her final wishes and secure her peace.
An Unforeseen Financial Burden
Diane was a loving mother of 4, grandmother to 14, and great-grandmother to 11. She had been bravely battling Stage 4 lung cancer, but ultimately, she passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest. The pain of losing her son John, for whom he had been her caregiver before his own diagnosis, weighed heavily on her spirit.
While Diane had a small life insurance policy and savings, none of these funds are currently accessible. To legally manage her affairs and access these assets, her estate must first go through the necessary legal processes, a process that is costly and time-consuming.
In the immediate aftermath of her passing, as her eldest daughter, Michelle, I used my personal credit card to ensure she had a beautiful, dignified funeral service, including a gorgeous Emerald green urn matching her birthstone.
How Your Donation Will Help
We are now faced with expenses that must be covered immediately. The financial strain of two unexpected losses so close together, compounded by the inability to access our mother's funds, has left our family in a difficult position.
Your generous contribution will go directly toward two critical and immediate needs:
Fulfilling Her Final Wish: Diane wished to be cremated and laid to rest with her own mother. This process, including the costs associated with the burial plot and internment, is estimated at $1,000.
Legal & Administrative Costs: To finally access her existing life insurance and bank account to settle her estate, we require approximately $500 for the necessary legal and administrative fees (e.g., executor filing fees, death certificates, etc.).
We are seeking to raise a total of $5,000 to cover some of the costs of the funeral service (charged to the credit card), the burial process, and the necessary legal fees.
Our Promise and Gratitude
We are a family committed to honoring the memory of our mother and brother, but we cannot do this alone. Any assistance, no matter how small, will lift a tremendous burden and allow us to finally give Diane the peace she deserves.
If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please share this campaign with your network. Spreading the word is a powerful form of support.
From the bottom of our hearts—Michelle, Dianne, and Christopher, along with our extended family—thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support during this unimaginably difficult time.
