Hi, my name is Melissa Murphy, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart. My mom recently passed away unexpectedly, and our family is struggling to cover the funeral and burial expenses. She was a loving, kind, and selfless woman who always put others before herself — even when times were tough. She had a tough life, but she managed to care for her five children, giving them the best life she could. It was not always easy for my mom, but she always fought to be here for us. The past two years, she battled lung cancer, and she fought hard. She was recently put into remission, but her body decided it was time for her to rest.

My mom didn’t have life insurance or savings set aside for final arrangements. We want to give her the respectful farewell she deserves — something simple but meaningful — so we can gather with family and friends to say goodbye. Her wish was to have a celebration of life and for all to come to share memories of her. Of course, she would love for us to cry our hearts out, but to laugh as well. Family was the most important thing to her, and we would want nothing more than to carry out her last wishes.
