Hi Everyone,
Our husband and father, Eddy Chung, was admitted into hospice care as of April 28, 2023 on forced-flow oxygen, which medical staff will begin reducing on May 1, 2023, whether or not he’ll be able to survive it. As much as it pains our family to start this now, we have to begin fundraising to help cover some known funeral expenses, including:
- Funeral/Memorial Services
- Airfare to return his ashes to Mauritius; his home country
Most of us who know and love Eddy, have also known his battle with lung cancer since December 2021. It truly pains all of us to let him go, but he’s fought long and hard during this time and it’s time for us to let him rest. Our family wasn’t prepared for all the costs involved with the end of his life, but we want to give him a memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and share our last goodbyes.
He hasn’t been able to visit Mauritius for over 6 years due to travel costs, COVID travel restrictions on the island, and more recently due to his condition. His longtime wish was to retire in Mauritius, and although he couldn’t get there himself, we’re trying our best to get him there as soon as possible after the funeral so he can rest beside our PoPo (grandma in Chinese).
**UPDATE** Eddy passed away early morning on April 30, 2023.
