A Final Farewell for Brandy Bynum

It’s with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of
Brandy “Sunshine” Bynum
08/12/1986 - 03/22/2025
In the early hours of March 22nd, our lovely friend Brandy suffered complications from cardiac arrest while visiting with a friend in New Haven, Connecticut.
It is unclear what caused Brandy to go into arrest; however, she was peacefully asleep as she transitioned. Brandy was such a lovable, outspoken, humble person who brought so much joy to others despite her own adversities.
With Brandy, she was a true testimony to “I may not look like what I’ve been through, but I made it through.” At many of Brandy’s most vulnerable times in her life, she’s been a savior to others! Such an overwhelming amount of people have reached out to shed light on how Brandy has been a life vest in their sinking ships. Brandy’s fierce, no-nonsense presence always showed up and out for the ones she loved and who adored her as well. Unless you bothered her while “Groot” was entertaining her lol, she was sure to be that friend we all need.

Brandy is a native of Boston, MA with roots in Virginia. She spent most of her time attending her day program at Discovery.
Brandy decided not to have children of her own but loved everyone’s children, including her beautiful nieces. She also adored her grandfather and had an essential role in his caretaking.

Unfortunately, our dear friend Brandy is still in New Haven, CT and needs to be back home to Boston for her final resting place.
However, as many struggle during these times without life insurance, Brandy isn’t able to be sent home or laid to rest.
On behalf of her family (sister) Shykeyla Bynum, we’re asking for assistance in transferring Brandy's body, a simple funeral service, and cremation followed by 38 purple balloons to release in honor of Brandy’s life.
The family appreciates and accepts any donation, prayers, and kind words given to help with the process of laying our dear friend and loved one to rest as she deserves.
Thank you.
