A Final Act of Love: Honoring Imam Fouad Saeed Abdulkadir
We are raising funds to cover Imam Fouad's funeral expenses and support his family during this unimaginable time.
Imam Fouad Saeed Abdulkadir was the heart of our community. As the leader of the Islamic Center of Northeast Ohio, he was more than a teacher—he was a gentle guide who illuminated our paths. He spent his life selflessly caring for others, nurturing our children with the wisdom of the Quran, healing family rifts, and offering kindness to everyone he met. His boundless generosity touched countless souls, and the space he leaves behind feels immeasurably quiet and deep.
My name is Jehan Helmi, and Imam Fouad was my beloved brother in faith and spirit. He graced me with the title "dear beloved sister," a bond I cherished deeply. On behalf of our entire community, I am organizing this effort to honor him.
Our hearts are broken to share that Imam Fouad has passed away. He departed this life while unjustly incarcerated, after pleading for medical care for over a year. The pain of his loss, compounded by these circumstances, has left our community grieving and holding each other a little closer.
In this moment of profound sorrow, we are turning to love. We wish to surround his family with the same compassion Imam Fouad always showed us, beginning with ensuring he is laid to rest with the utmost dignity and peace. We are humbly asking for your support. This is our chance to give back to a man who gave us everything.
Your contribution, no matter the amount, is a heartfelt gesture of solidarity. It tells his grieving family they are surrounded by love, and it honors a beautiful life dedicated to service.
To ensure transparency, here is our clear plan for the funds:
This fundraiser has been organized by me, Jehan Helmi, his sister in faith, Hussein Harmouche, his beloved brother in faith and spirit, and our mosque community.
• Primary Use: The first $11,000 raised will be used exclusively to cover Imam Fouad's funeral and burial expenses in full. These funds will be paid directly to the funeral home.
• Distribution of Remaining Funds: Any funds raised beyond our $11,000 goal will be distributed equally among Imam Fouad's four children—Maryam, Aisha, Abdulrahman, and Maram—to support their future.
• Beneficiary for Delivery: To ensure secure and direct delivery:
- The portions for Abdulrahman and Maram (who is also in the USA) will be sent via direct bank transfer to the children's mother in Texas, Aieman Hugais, who will act as the custodian.
- The portions for Maryam and Aisha, residing in Egypt, will be sent directly to them via secure international wire transfer through Western Union.
This plan ensures that the immediate need for a dignified burial is met first, and that any additional generosity is directed as meaningful support for his children. We are committed to full transparency in this process.
