“How did I get here?” My name is Paul Bayne, I’m 53 years old, and that’s a question I ask myself every day. In November of 2017, I was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive and terminal brain cancer. I’m making this film to document my journey through diagnosis, treatments, operations, and to inform others with this diagnosis what to expect. The film will include honest conversations with cancer researchers, doctors, counselors, faith leaders, cancer survivors, and family members.

The average lifespan after this type of diagnosis is 14 months, but 17 months later, I’m still kicking! I haven’t lost hope, for myself or for others with this disease. I haven’t lost faith.

In addition to sharing my story, I want to produce an app called ChemoTop, a hub of resources for cancer patients and their families and friends. The app will:

Connect them with mentors and counselors around the USA
Help them find clinical trials in their area and explore new avenues of treatment
Encourage them with video and audio coaching clips from conversations in the film
Walk them through the daily trials with mindfulness exercises and advice from survivors
I’ve learned a lot in the last 17 months, and I look forward to sharing that with my family, my 3 sons, my friends, and with you through this film and the ChemoTop app.
