My name is MARTY VARGAS, and I am a filmmaker working on a deeply personal project. When I was 13 years old, my life changed forever—our home was burned down by a Red Neck, and my family was left to pick up the pieces. In the aftermath, I found myself responsible for protecting my 8-year-old niece, Karen, as we faced ongoing threats and uncertainty. It was a time that tested our courage and faith, but it also showed me the power of resilience in the face of bigotry and fear.
This film is my way of sharing that story. It is about the bravery of young kids standing up against hate, and the strength it takes to keep going when everything feels lost. I am making this film in memory of Karen, who recently passed away as an adult. Her spirit and courage continue to inspire me every day, and I want to honor her by telling our story.
Your support will help me cover the costs of equipment, crew, locations, food, and transportation for everyone involved. More than that, it will help me share a message of hope: that no matter how difficult your circumstances, you can overcome hateful attacks with faith and courage. Thank you for considering a contribution to this project and for helping me bring this important story to life.
