A warrior mom needs our help

Friends, I’d like to appeal for your help for a very dear friend in the autism community who has recently become homeless and needs our help; Gisselle, and her autistic son David.

Gisselle is a mother of two wonderful kids… one daughter who recently left for college and her son, David, who is severely autistic and nonverbal. For many years, Gisselle has been a stay@home parent and provided a wonderful life for her son who has many supervisory, educational and dietary needs.

Quite recently, in September, Gisselle lost a court battle with her mortgage bank, who quite suddenly evicted her and David from their home without notice. Their belongings were thrown into trash bags and boxes…and tossed onto their lawn. Two days before last year's hurricane hit! The experience was extremely traumatic for mother and son, but not as horrific as what followed. Being unable to financially and situationally provide all that her son requires, Gisselle was forced to send David to his father until she could regroup and establish a new home for them both.

Gisselle is desperately working very hard to improve her situation so she can move into a new place and take David home again. She has been living in Airbnb room rentals and is nearly out of funds. Soon, she will be forced to beg friends for a place to live.

Won’t you please join me, in helping Gisselle and David, so mom can get on her feet, reestablish her career in real estate and give David the loving and warm home he has been accustomed to?

They are wonderful people and it grieves my heart that they must face this situation. Will you Please consider donating any amount you can reasonably spare so that mother and son can be reunited and establish themselves in a new home?

This is their desperate hour. And together, we can offer them some hope and relief.
