My name is Ammar Haider and I'm starting this GoFundMe for a friend very dear to me. Shoaib who is a father of Muhammad Murtaza Zuberi has really been going through some difficult times as his only son, Murtaza Zuberi , has been diagnosed with Rare genetic diseases Spinal Muscular Atrophy and needs Gene therapy and continued support.

Anything you can give toward the family will enable Shoaib and his family to get one in a lifetime gene therapy for his son. I will transfer funds on his behalf to the facility where gene therapy will held on Shoaib’s behalf.

Introduction:

I am Dr. Shoaib Zuberi originally from Pakistan. As a father deeply committed to the well-being of my beloved son, Muhammad Murtaza Zuberi, I am reaching out for support in raising funds for his critical medical treatment.

Relationship:

Muhammad Murtaza is my beloved Son born to my wife, and me. Our family's world revolves around him, and his health and happiness are of utmost importance to us. His eyes are full of hope to life.

Journey:

The nightmare truly began when Murtaza never stood up and even could not perform simple activities which other children easily do. Being parents our days and nights started revolving around worries and thoughts as somewhere we both had a fear in our hearts that something is there and he is not OK. Despite of all other used to say he is a very charming boy and he will do all activities but both me and my wife use to spend nights awake , discussing, sometimes crying.

Finally the darkest day of our lives came doctors mentioned a term that would come to haunt our dreams: Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). A genetic disorder that affects the very core of Murtaza's being, robbing her of the ability to move, to breathe, to live a normal life.

As a maxillofacial surgeon, I've dedicated my life to promoting health and well-being of others Yet, despite my knowledge and expertise, I find myself powerless in the face of my son’s illness. The only glimmer of hope lies in gene therapy, and Risdiplam a treatment that promises to change Murtaza's life for the better. But it's a treatment that is out of reach for us here in Pakistan.

Desperate to give Murtaza the chance he deserves, my wife and I have embarked on a journey of fundraising and sacrifice. We've liquidated our assets, reached out to friends and family, all in the hopes of raising enough funds to afford this life-saving treatment.

Explanation of Funds Usage:

The funds we are raising will be used exclusively for Murtaza’s gene therapy treatment. Specifically, we are seeking to cover the costs associated with New Chinese gene therapy by Lentu Pharma Called Vesemnogene. This therapy offers Murtaza the best chance at a fulfilling life, but unfortunately, it is not available in Pakistan, where we currently reside. The total cost of the treatment amounts to approximately 125k USD. By Liquidating our own assets we have arranged $65 K , still we are short of $60k for which we really need help of you all, as we are left with nothing to sell out more.

The funds will be delivered directly to Lentu Pharma or the authorized medical facility administering the treatment. We will ensure transparency and accountability in the management of these funds, providing regular updates to our supporters on how their contributions are being utilized.
