Hi. My name is JR Gross. I am a 44-year-old father of 4 young boys ranging from ages 18, 12, 11, and 4. My wife and I have been together for 23 years and have been happily married for 18 years. My wife, being the only one working, means we are a single-income family.
(This is my story.) I arrived at the Braselton Hospital on 12/15 for an infection in my foot. I was admitted the same day and found out the infection was gangrene and needed the 5th toe amputated on 12/17. One of the stents I have had closed completely, so I needed to undergo a 5-hour bypass surgery on 12/19 because of no blood flow to the left leg. The blood flow was restored at 100%, but it was not enough to heal the tissue and bone in the foot. I was informed on 12/22 that I will be undergoing a left leg below-knee amputation on 12/23. I will then be a double leg amputee. Because I lost my right leg 1 year and a half ago due to the same complications.
Any and all donations will be gratefully appreciated and will be used for any modifications to the home to accommodate my needs as a double amputee, also any medical equipment such as prosthetic legs, wheelchair, etc., medical bills/medicine, and any outside care along my journey. Thank you again for taking the time to read my story. Thank you for all your support, donations, love, and prayers. God bless you all.
