A Father's Fight for Life

Help Brad Return Home:

My name is Courtney Fowler and I’m here on behalf of my Brother-In-Law, Brad Arnold. A selfless father who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, now facing the fight of his life after multiple surgeries including a double leg amputation. He needs our support to return home to his 3-year-old son.

While on the kidney transplant list, his body decided to go down a very difficult road. He had triple bypass heart surgery less than a year ago and today, he continues to fight and beat all odds.

What started as a trip to the ER on February 1st, led to a perforated ulcer and emergency surgery. The initial surgeon was unable to fix the damage and he was transferred to Barnes for additional surgery and care. Once transferred, it was identified that blood flow to his legs had been compromised, and he would also need to have double leg amputation above the knee as well as additional stomach surgery to fix the damage from the perforation. Brad had his abdominal surgery on February 9th and a double amputation on February 12th. Since then, Brad's condition has continued to deteriorate, causing multiple internal arterial bleeds, requiring interventional radiology procedures to stop the bleeding.

On March 4th, Brad went into cardiac arrest, he received CPR and was intubated until March 13th, when a tracheostomy was placed indicating longer-term ventilation.

He has been through so much and to be honest, his battle is far from over. He continues to fight infections all while now facing the obstacles of life as a double amputee.

We are fighting desperately to get Brad back to a place of happiness and to be able to be the great father he is destined to be. We are asking for a little love and support to get him into a rehabilitation facility and eventually back home. Brad will need a wheelchair and eventually prosthetics to improve his quality of life. We will also need to do some home construction to make his living situation handicap accessible to account for the wheelchair.

Brad is the type of person who gives the shirt right off his back for someone in need and will never ask for help himself, hence the reason for me and this GoFundMe account. I’m not afraid to ask for help, and in this case, I am shouting from the rooftops. Any love given, we are beyond grateful! Can’t donate but can share; we will take that as well!

Please help us help Brad get back home to his family and to his 3-year-old son, who is missing him tremendously and doesn't understand what is happening to his dad.
