A Father with Cancer Gives His Kids the Night of Their Lives

I was diagnosed with malignant brain cancer in September 2014. The tumor continued to grow, and I had a craniotomy in April 2016. UCLA has been my ongoing care provider. My medications are no longer remaining effective enough to prevent seizures from breaking through. In November 2025, I had a seizure that would have killed me had I not been found in my bedroom when I was. Now I am being prepared for a second craniotomy. Currently, I take five seizure prevention prescription medications (along with an emergency immediate use medication if a seizure does occur).
Although married when diagnosed, time has passed, and my wife and I divorced. She lives in Las Vegas now with our two children. Our 15-year-old daughter and our 11-year-old son live with her. They are well taken care. My ex and I were lucky enough to go to Las Vegas and see more than one Cirque du Soleil show. They are unbelievable performances. My kids have never been.
I want to take them so bad. Unfortunately, I can't do it alone. Another adult will have to be with me in case a seizure, even minor, occurs. They will have to drive the four hours from Bakersfield to Las Vegas because my license is currently suspended for medical reasons. Of course, this is someone my kids and I love and trust. Someone who loves me as well as those children dearly, is already in mind. We've all three known them and loved them our entire lives.
My trusted ally and I will stay Friday night on the way into Las Vegas and take the kids out the following night. We will have a night out, get a great dinner, see the Cirque du Soliel show 'Ka' (fire based) or 'O' (water based), and have a good desert at a local place afterwards. It will be a night they will never forget. Given my current medical condition, I need to make an effort to make this happen, now. Time is not on my side. Your help and generosity make the difference in the life changing memories of two small children. This GoFundMe page is for them.
I am asking for donations so I can cover all costs, for my friend, as well. My drinking stopped years ago and I wouldn't gamble. My trusted ally can pay for drinks, gambling, souvenirs, and miscellaneous things that they would like to have, of course. If not for them, I couldn't pull this off. Without your help, it would only be coffee table talk. Thank you for any financial contributions and sincerely for your prayers. God listens.
