My name is Carissa, and I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my family following the heartbreaking loss of my cousin’s partner, Valentin Onofre Martinez, who was taken from us far too soon in a senseless act of violence.
Valentin leaves behind his partner, Mia Martinez, and their three young children: Malani, 7, Jr., 5, and Liam, 3. He was the primary provider for his family, and his sudden death has left Mia and the children grieving while also facing immediate financial uncertainty. In addition to losing a loving partner and father, the family must now manage expenses that Valentin would have helped cover, including funeral costs, housing, food, childcare, transportation, and other everyday necessities.
Our goal is to provide Mia and the children with support during this difficult transition. Donations will help with funeral and memorial expenses, immediate household needs, and ongoing care for the children as the family begins rebuilding their lives without Valentin’s income and support. Any assistance will help give them time and stability as they grieve.
There has been speculation online about the circumstances surrounding Valentin’s death, including claims of gang involvement. Our family does not have confirmed information about the suspect or motive, and we do not want to spread rumors or make assumptions. What we do know is that Valentin was not gang affiliated. He was a hardworking father who cared deeply for his family and worked to provide for them. His life was tragically taken, and Mia and their children are now facing the painful reality of moving forward without him.
If you are able to donate, your contribution will directly support Valentin’s family during this challenging time. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser with others can make a meaningful difference. Your prayers, kind messages, and support are also deeply appreciated.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with Mia, Malani, Jr., and Liam during this devastating loss. Every donation, share, prayer, and kind word means more than we can express.
