Hi, my name is Fearghal and I'm fundraising on behalf of Khamis and his family in what was the town of Deir al-Balah in the Gaza strip.

Khamis was introduced to me by a trusted colleague and we've been in touch over Whatsapp*, he has sent me pictures of his daughter Maris, who is 5, and has not been to school because the schools have been destroyed and Aysal, who is 3, and has only known life in tents under bombardment.

Their conditions are what you would expect if you've been following whats happened over the last 14 months. I'll spare you the details but one.

Karim, his son, is 4 months old and he is undernourished. Baby formula is available but expensive; money raised will go towards this. He is also distressed as he has terrible sores but nappies and wipes are expensive; the money raised will go towards this.

If you've cared for a baby you'll know that it is a tough job at the best of times. Worry and stress mixed with sleepless nights. Caring for a baby with the basics is really hard, imagine doing it without clean hot water on tap, a supermarket around the corner, and a hospital minutes away?

My heart breaks to think of any kids in distress. I imagine yours does too.

I'm asking you to do something simple and cut through the noise and share some of your cash with a father who is trying to care for his kids and wife in the most horrific conditions imaginable. The price of a pint, a coffee or a round of drinks will help a family meet their basic needs.
