In the early evening of December 6, my brother in law, Pastor Noel Wadson, received a call no parent should ever get. His youngest daughter, 15 year old Makayla, and her boyfriend, 17 year old Colby, were in a serious collision when their vehicle was T-boned on the passenger side.

Makayla was the passenger and her injuries are significant - pelvic fractures on both sides, broken femur, broken ribs, lacerated bladder, and numerous stitches. She underwent a lengthy surgery on Sunday.

Luckily Colby’s injuries were minor, whiplash and a concussion. Thankfully his minor injuries allowed him to act quick in calling 911, and both dads all while aiding Makayla by keeping her head steady and putting pressure on her head laceration. His calm and quick thinking undoubtedly acted in saving Makayla’s life. The family as a whole are grateful for his actions.

Makayla has a long road ahead of her. And as a single father, Noel needs to be by her side constantly. We are starting this go fund me to allow Noel to take the time off work he needs to be at the hospital for the next month or so, then home more often to support her transition home, and take her to the numerous rehabilitation appointments she will have.
