Jon "Vanilla" Akers Bereavement Fund
As many of you know, after suffering the tragedy of losing a loved one, the unfortunate reality of costs and financial burdens come with it.
This family is not one to ask for help but the loss of our dad has left our mom without an income. We also want to be able to properly celebrate the life of Jon “Vanilla” Akers, our Dad. As we do want to memorialize him in a big celebration, we also have to take into consideration the costs and our mom’s situation that she would not be able to afford it on her own. Not to mention the ongoing regular monthly bills and costs of living that are yet to come.
In place of flowers, gifts, or other sympathies you might send we hope you would consider donating what you can to help with these costs.
Your assistance during this time would be deeply appreciated.
Jon was different things to different people. Whether you knew him as Jon, Vanilla, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Friend, or Son; one thing he was to everyone was a great man. He was a devoted husband, a provider, a wonderful father, a good friend, and a protector, to name a few qualities. He had heart. Jon will be dearly missed and will always be loved and he will never be forgotten.
Please join us for Vanilla's Last Ride
We are in the midst of planning his last ride
This is a ride to show honor and respect for Vanilla and he will be present on this ride. We are aiming for Memorial Weekend of 2023. Mark your calendars and save the date! The ride will begin in Eureka, CA, and travel North to Cresent City, CA. From here we are hoping to be joined by the Old Guard for this stretch from Cresent City to Cave Junction, OR. The memorial ride will conclude in Cave Junction with a good Ol' fashioned long weekend party. We will provide details as we have them confirmed.
